More Willie

Recently I caught an article talking about the shoe brand Superga coming to the USA. Since they are originally from Torino, where I lived for awhile, I thought I had to at least check them out. I ended up liking the clean, simple look of canvas and rubber and ordered their Torino model shoe in black. They just got here today. Really cool packaging and so far, a really comfortable, fresh shoe.

Their slogan claims to be, “The People’s Shoes of Italy,” however, when you look closer you will notice a distinct sticker on the side of the box revealing they were made in Vietnam. There are enough immigrants and gypsies without work in Italy that you think Berlusconi could herd them into some remote city and get a few sweatshops going instead of outsourcing. Oh well, globalization I guess.
